I really tested my asteroid dodging skills getting to the Chronos.  After everything was over, a lot of people told me I should try out for a racing team, having seen how quickly I got from the station to the ship.  Honestly, I’ve thought about it a lot since then.

I performed what’s known as a “hot dock” getting aboard.  It’s fast and dangerous, but if you know what you’re doing well enough, it not only puts your ship in the hangar, but you get out before it even stops moving.  It’s the last part that’s the dangerous part, really.  You have to jump and roll at just the right tim

Chapter 6 - Bittersweet

I figured the two ships were close already, and a part of me awed at the energy required to keep them cloaked and moving at the appreciable rate they were moving at the same time.  But for the time being, I had to put that part of myself aside and focus on what could possibly go down.  Not like that was preferable, but it wouldn't help me to have engineering distractions running through my mind.

Seeing a speedship is never a good omen to an admiral. It almost invariably carries one of two messages: either you've been given new orders to do something drastic, or you're receiving news, telling you that you're pretty much screwed, go home.
